Céd studied Spanish Guitar in Spain and USA and traveled extensively around the world to experience various musical traditions.
He settled in Melbourne in 1994. His dynamic Flamenco and Salsa-tinged, folk-Gipsy melodies has made him a popular and fine ambassador to Mediterranean music through his average 300 performances per year.
Céd feels as comfortable serenading around tables as performing shows on stage, solo or with band "Bric a Brac "(céd Le Mélédo and friends)
His guided tour around Spanish romance and French sensibility, his fingerpicking and percussive drumming of the guitar make his performance a lively and colorful musical experience.
Coyote Cowgirls: Rosy & Cath, the better half of Spaghetti Western, return to their choir singing roots in a lively performance that’s bound to bring out your inner cowgirl! Country and Alt-Rock tunes sung in perfect harmony, accompanied by Ukelele and Banjolele.
Grace: Is 22 and has been playing guitar for more than half of her life. Her dad taught her how to play in their hometown, Mildura; something which is a fond memory of her childhood. She plays a wide genre of acoustic covers and also some original pieces. Nowadays, she enjoys playing to family and friends in between study and work.
Nice Verdes have been performing since first meeting in 2003. They have extensively toured Australia, Canada, New-Zealand, Europe and Guatemala. They are always on some kind of adventure in search of new inspiration and music and so have studied music and dance in Cuba, India, West Africa and Colombia, continually honing their craft. Their music is refreshing, uplifting and sunny original indie world. They have always been drawn to collaborating with artists from all countries and they enjoy most of all the parties and festivals that celebrate a strong sense of community and equality in diversity.
Jazz, Bossa Nova, Samba & Funky Grooves
Jason Dickies (Guitar): A professional Jazz, Funk and Latin music performer who has been working in Melbourne Jazz Clubs and Bars for over 10 years. He has performed in Rio De Janeiro and studied Bossa and Samba with some of the worlds leading performers. His worldly music experience brings excitement to his sound and performance. Jason has played with numerous Jazz musicians from Melbourne and Sydney and has recorded CD’s with various Jazz and Funk ensembles.
Chris Pappas (Tenor Sax/Percussion): Another experienced performer who currently leads his own Jazz quartet and original Funk band. He has performed with vocalist Maria Hines, Leo Sayer, Nina Ferro, Julie O’Harra, and various other Jazz/Funk and Latin Jazz bands in Melbourne and Sydney. Chris has released 2 Jazz albums, 1 Funk album and performs at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Dizzy’s Jazz Club, Uptown Jazz Cafe, The Night Cat, Bar 303, Open Studio and The Paris Cat Jazz Club.
Troy Charles is a singer/ songwriter who plays an eclectic repertoire of music including intimate covers and reminiscent originals. His influences come from the early blues, gospel and soul greats. Also, interwoven in the music is the finesse of the story tellers and at times the grunt of 90’s grunge. He draws upon an array of influences to provide a powerful performance.
Enjoy an evening of Gypsy Jazz as two strong forces within the Australian Manouche scene, Adam Russo and Chris Maunders, come together to swing through tunes of the old world. The unique blend of their guitar and chromatic harmonica create tonal qualities that are reminiscent of the few tracks Django and Larry Adler recorded alongside The Hot Club De France in 1938
Ray Hood is from Sydney originally, and over the years has played in numerous rock, punk, indie and then Jazz bands in Sydney, London and Melbourne. A singer and Jazz guitarist, long time regular at La Niche through the noughties
Annique Azure, wonderful vocalist, chanteuse and jazz original, speaks numerous languages, sings in French, Italian, Portuguese and English, plays flute and saxophone as well.
Their repertoire covers modern Pop, the Great American song book, French classics by Gainsbourg, Brel and Italian favourites by Mancini et al.
Jess Chan is a creative master of standards repertoire. A mix of the familiar and obscure, with emotion and clarity, she tells a story with every note. You may hear the nuances of Betty Carter, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Nancy Wilson, and Sarah Vaughan to name a few in her choice of repertoire and her phrasing.
A versatile musician, Jess has performed jazz, pop, and opera, internationally in the Philippines, New Zealand, and China, however her love for standards has constantly drawn her back to the back to the American song book. Regularly performing with Atienne Bakker on guitar, this duo will delight you with a superb selection of their favourite jazz standards.
